Project summary
This project builds on the substantial work of FCF partners by providing disability expertise to support the government, OPD, and FCF sub-grant partners to review, revise, and augment their initiatives to enable children with disabilities to be appropriately supported, living safely and successfully integrated into family care.
FCF partners report a lack of technical skills to support children with disabilities. This project supports these stakeholders' capacity to support this population confidently. Core aspects include collaboration with locally-based partners, enhancing existing skills within sector stakeholders, and jointly supporting children with disabilities to have successful family care situations. Facilitating provincial-level working groups in planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the project is core to our design, with joint reflection and story-sharing essential elements to reinforce learning and promote sustainable changes between the 2 provinces. OIC will draw extensively on resources and learnings from their 2021-2023 FCF project.
